Ingredients of Doi Chingri
- Prepare 500 g of Prawns / Golda chingri.
- It's 3 tbls of Yogurt.
- Prepare 1 tbls of Beresta or fried onion.
- It's 2 of onions finely chopped.
- You need 1 of Tomato finely chopped.
- It's 2-3 of Green chilli finely chopped.
- You need 1 tbsp of Ginger-garlic paste.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Red chilli powder.
- You need 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 tbls of Coriander leaves finely chopped.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Garam mashala powder.
- You need 2 of Green cardamom.
- It's 2 of Bay leaves.
- Prepare 1 of Cinnamon stick.
- You need 1 tsp of Ghee.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Sugar.
- Prepare 2 tbls of Mustard oil.
- You need as needed of Salt.
Doi Chingri instructions
- Wash and clean the golda chingri, devein but keep the head attached. Marinated golda chingri with little amount of turmeric powder and salt. Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry each golda chingri until coloured into golden brown from both sides..
- Now add 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add green cardamom, bay leaf and cinnamon, saute for few minutes, then add chopped onions, fry until golden brown. Next add chopped green chillies and ginger-garlic paste, mix it and fry till raw smell gone..
- Then add chopped tomatoes, mix and add salt, cook for around 5 minutes till tomatoes are soft. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute them for few minutes. Then add yogurt and mix them very well. Then add 1 cup of water after 2-3 minutes add golda chingri and mix well, add chopped coriander, lower the heat and cover and cook for 5 minutes. Now add garam masala powder, ghee and fried onions mix them well and switch off the gas. Serve hot with steamed rice.
