- You need 12 idlis of made from Readymade idli batter.
- Prepare 1 tsp of jeera.
- It's 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
- It's 1 of onion chopped.
- Prepare 1 of green chilli chopped.
- It's 1 of tomato chopped.
- It's 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1 tsp of salt adjust as per taste.
- You need 1 tsp of garam masala / you can use pav bhaji masala also.
- You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- You need 2 tbsp of oil.
- It's 1/2 cup of water.
Masala Idli can also be served as an appetizer before any meal and is a great way to make use of those leftover idlis. Masala idli is delicious recipe native to Southern part of India. Masala idli instructions
- First mix idli batter with adding some salt don't add more because we will be adding to masala also,then pour the batter in idli maker and let it steam for 25 minutes check in between if it is done,remove and keep aside to get it cool in room temperature..
- Next heat oil in a pan and add jeera when it starts spluttering add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off,next add onion and green chilli and fry till it becomes soft and then add chopped tomatoes along with the spices and let it cook till the tomatoes gets soft..
- But into 4 pcs all the idlis prepared and mix in the masala made by adding 1/2 cup of water so that the masala gets coated well with all the idlis it will soak and makes idli soft and if you want more crispy from outside fry more time till it becomes totally dry and crispy and enjoy this yummy delicious with coconut chutney best for breakfast and evening snacks also..
