Ingredients of Kasaragod Style Beef Palli Curry
- You need 1 kg of Beef – cut into small cubes.
- It's 2 of Onion – thinly sliced.
- You need 1 of Tomato – finely chopped.
- You need 2 tbsp of Ginger-garlic paste-.
- Prepare 2 of Green chilies- finely chopped.
- You need 1 tsp of Cumin powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Garam masala powder.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Eastern meat masala.
- You need 2 tbsp of Red chilli powder.
- It's 3 tbsp of Coriander powder.
- You need 1 tsp of Pepper powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.
- You need To taste of Salt.
- You need 1 sprig of Curry leaves.
- Prepare As needed of Oil.
- Prepare As needed of Water.
Splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add the sliced onions and saute until translucent. Add the marinated beef and mix well. It is served in the mosques of Kasaragod during the festive with it's ultimate combo - ghee rice.

- Clean, wash, and drain the beef..
- Dry roast the spice powders- cumin powder, garam masala powder, meat masala powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, & pepper powder and keep it aside..
- Marinate the beef with the prepared masala powder and leave it aside for 15-20 mins..
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add the sliced onions and saute until translucent. Add the marinated beef and mix well. Add 1.5 cups of water and pressure cook for about 2-3 whistles or until the beef is cooked properly..
- Once it is done, remove from flame and keep it aside for the pressure to subside. Serve hot with pathiri or ghee rice..
