- Prepare 3 cups of sushi rice.
- Prepare 1/3 cup of rice vinegar.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of sugar.
- Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of coarse salt.
Sushi Rice step by step
- Rinse rice several times until the water runs clear, then let it soak for 30 minutes.
- Cook in rice cooker on sushi setting.
- Mix together vinegar, sugar, and salt, then heat in microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until everything is dissolved and set aside to cool.
- Once rice is done, spoon it out into a wet glass container. Add vinegar slowly while using rice paddle to mix into rice.
- Mold rice with wet hands into onigiri, or spread on a bamboo mat to roll sushi.
